Oaxaca and the Media

The Author

I am a college student who wants to do everything at once.

A big dreamer, a book lover, and a journalism and politics student, I have long been determined to travel. More recently, I have been determined to study abroad. My determination took me down a blind path of wanting to go first to London (boring internships), then to Uganda (program full), then to Kenya (program also full), then to South Africa (same story), and finally Mexico (what the hell, I’ve always wanted to become more fluent in Spanish).

For the spring semester of 2007, I studied grassroots development and social change in southern Mexico. It seemed to have happened quite by accident, but it couldn’t have been a happier accident. Since then, I have fallen in love with the Spanish language and I will do anything possible to continue the global education I began while Mexico.
